About Me

Image may contain: 1 person, sitting and indoorHello! I am Tiara (SHE/HER/HERS)- I am a writer, speaker and Student Affairs professional who is ultimately passionate about empowering students to show up in their personal and professional lives with self-awareness, joy and a spirit for advocacy.

In 2017, I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with minors in Communications and Africana Studies from Rutgers University-Camden, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at the Ohio State University, where I am also an Assistant Hall Director.

My past work and research has focused on access in higher education, gender and racial development, inclusive leadership and utilizing books and creativity to engage students. As a first generation college student, I find that so much of my work revolves around creating access and offering support for marginalized students.

Outside of the office, you can typically find me reading a book, planning my next trip, writing in my journal or grabbing bubble tea with a friend. You can learn more about my interests and values, and see samples of my writing and research at tiaradeguzman.com! I’d love to connect with you.
